Two existing downtown Tyrone businesses have moved to the front of their respective buildings in the last few days.
Both Captain Lou’s Buy Smart and Puff-N-Snuff moved inventory to new storefronts for easier access to their customers.
Captain Lou’s Buy Smart was located in the back of its present building, owned by Lou Zimmerman Jr. of Tyrone. And Lou has decided to drop groceries that he carried in the back, but to keep antiques, used furniture, collectibles and has added used videos and compact discs to the line up that is now located at 1018 Pennsylvania Ave.
Captain Lou’s will now be open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“Our hours now are the same as the town’s,” added Zimmerman. “The groceries were getting harder to get.” said Zimmerman. “Moving to the front of the building gives us better exposure and I can rent out the parking spaces in the back and even lease our old location.”
Captain Lou’s is currently selling off all of his remaining groceries at 50 percent off.
The Puff-N-Snuff has also moved up two doors from Tenth Street to the former All State Legrand Insurance Agency location at 978 Pennsylvania Avenue, on the corner of Pennsylvania and Tenth Street. Puff-N-Snuff now has more room to carry its complete line of tobacco products.
