An Independence Day exclusive for local, patriotic-minded citizens will air on 1340 WTRN on Friday, July 4th from 1 to 5 p.m.
It’s yet another on air creation of former Tyrone resident Bill Dann, whose extensive record collection allows him to produce shows ranging in patriotic themes to novelty, a comedy music showcases for April Fools’ Day and Halloween.
The show, titled “Patriots on Parade,” features many of Dann’s personal favorites including “Old Glory.” “Song of the Patriot,” and the “Ballad of Two Brothers,” a song Dann calls his absolute favorite. It’s the story of two brothers fighting against each other on opposite sides of war, but by the end of the song, they have laid down their arms and become family again.
Dann’s shows have become very popular features of WTRN and once again twenty one area businesses will sponsor the show.
Cary Simpson, owner of WTRN told The Daily Herald “Many listeners told us that they enjoyed the Memorial Day tribute that aired. Our nation has celebrated its patriotism this year and its a good for our country. We will continue to celebrate that on July 4th with this special show.”
“Patriots on Parade” again features freedom ringing, patriotic platters, marches, battle ballads and wartime gold on 1340 WTRN on July 4th from 1 until 5 p.m.
