Hundreds of motorcycle enthusiasts are gearing up for this years “Bikers for Barkers” event scheduled to benefit the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society on Saturday, July 5th.
“Heavy metal thunder” will once again resonate throughout Central Pennsylvania as the two-wheelers ride to raise funds for homeless animals.
In addition to the fun ride starting at the Humane Society shelter and ending at DelGrosso Park in Tipton, participants will be treated to special demonstrations by Law Enforcement and Emergency service dogs and music by local rock group “The Banditos.”
Those who register, cost is $20, will receive T-shirt, a DelGrosso barbecue chicken dinner (additional dinners can be reserved ahead for $6.00 each) and be eligible for cash prizes and 50/50s. The 95-mile ride will take bikers through a relaxed country setting with stops along the way according to organizers. Secure parking will be provided at all locations.
Check-in registration at the shelter location, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, runs from 10 a.m. until noon.
A post-run party will be held at the Victory Lane Saloon, 719 19th Street in Altoona.
Last years event raised nearly $7,000 for CPHS. This year organizer Sharee Ritchey says she’s hoping for an even better result.
