Celebrating its twenty-third year, the Tyrone Regional Arts Council recently announced seven concerts for area residents to enjoy.<br \/>\nThis season of free concerts in Tyrone\u2019s Reservoir Park will open with the music of a popular area country band this Sunday at Reservoir Park.<br \/>\nSilver Creek is an upbeat band that plays popular country music from today\u2019s hottest hits to those classics that everybody loves.<br \/>\nThe evening\u2019s show will include such favorites as \u201cHeaven Heart Aches and the Power of Love\u201d, \u201cRedneck Women\u201d and \u201cGun Powder and Lead\u201d, along with classic country such as Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, George Jones and Merle Haggart and round out with oldies such as Del Shannon\u2019s Run Away and Sleep Walk.<br \/>\nSilver Creek also plays original songs written by Mark Johnson, the guitarist and songwriter for South West.<br \/>\nBand members are Mark Johnson &#8211; Lead Guitar, George Isett- Rhythm Guitar,\u00a0 Monica Brindle- Mandolin and Dave O&#8217;Connell on Bass.<br \/>\nSummer Sunday concerts begin at 6 p.m. in Tyrone\u2019s Reservoir Park and, in the event of rain, will be held in the Lutheran Church on Logan Avenue and Thirteenth Street.<br \/>\nAll concerts are made possible by a grant from the PA Council on the Arts, a state agency, the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency, and Tyrone Borough.<br \/>\nConcerts are free of charge and audience members should bring a chair or blanket for seating.<br \/>\nFor additional information contact the Arts Line Office at 684-ART2.<br \/>\nThe original series, Summer Sundays at Reservoir Park\u2019s amphitheater, consists of seven concerts that will feature the music of the big bands, Dixieland, bluegrass, Irish, gospel and country. As occurred last year the series will run through Labor Day.<br \/>\nThe Tyrone summer concert schedule by date is: July 20 &#8211; Michael O\u2019Brian Band (Irish) at Reservoir Park\u00a0 at 6 p.m.; July 27 &#8211; Cup O Joe (Bluegrass) at Reservoir Park at\u00a0 6 p.m.; August\u00a0 3 &#8211; Zupe (Big Band, Broadway, Oldies, Contemporary) at Reservoir Park\u00a0 at 6 p.m.; August 10 &#8211; Big Band Sound, Inc (17 piece Big Band) at Reservoir Park\u00a0 at 6 p.m.; August 17 &#8211; Summit City Saints Dixieland Band at Reservoir Park at 6 p.m. and August 24 &#8211; Lou Stein Band (Jazz &amp; Big Band) at Reservoir Park\u00a0 at 6 p.m.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Silver Creek As summer begins so does the concert season in Tyrone.
