{"id":1018,"date":"2008-07-12T09:47:36","date_gmt":"2008-07-12T13:47:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/v3\/?p=1018"},"modified":"2008-07-15T09:49:07","modified_gmt":"2008-07-15T13:49:07","slug":"music-lovers-have-several-options-sunday-with-concerts-planned-throughout-the-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/?p=1018","title":{"rendered":"Music lovers have several options Sunday with concerts planned throughout the day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Area residents have a multitude of options when it comes to getting out and about this weekend.<br \/>\nMusic lovers may be especially excited about all the options this Sunday, from two country concerts planned at DelGrosso\u2019s Amusement Park to a party in the park at Soldiers Park.<br \/>\nCountry recording artists, Halfway to Hazard, will perform two concerts at DelGrosso\u2019s Amusement Park on Sunday at 3 and 7 p.m.<br \/>\nAccording to information from the CMT website, \u201cHalfway to Hazard is made up of Chad Warrix and David Tolliver, who were raised about 50 miles apart in an area near Hazard, Ky.<br \/>\n\u201cAfter their own bands dissolved, they started performing together in Nashville clubs and attracted label attention, eventually signing with Mercury Nashville. Tim McGraw and Byron Gallimore co-produced their first album, which will be released in August 2007.\u201d<br \/>\nDelGrosso\u2019s Amusement Park is excited to welcome the duo to the stage this weekend.<br \/>\nAdmission to the concert and parking are free to the public.<br \/>\nIndividuals are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and settle in for an exciting afternoon and evening of entertainment.<br \/>\nReservoir Park will also host a free musical concert when Silver Creek takes the stage for the opening of the 23rd season of free concerts in the park.<br \/>\nA popular area country band, Silver Creek, plays upbeat, popular country music from today\u2019s hottest hits to those classics that everybody loves.<br \/>\nThe evening\u2019s show will include favorites such as \u201cHeaven,\u00a0 Heartaches and the Power of Love\u201d, \u201cRedneck Woman\u201d and \u201cGun Powder and Lead\u201d, along with classic country from Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, George Jones and Merle Haggart.<br \/>\nSilver Creek also plays original songs written by Mark Johnson, the guitarist and songwriter for South West.<br \/>\nBand members are Mark Johnson &#8211; Lead Guitar, George Isett- Rhythm Guitar,\u00a0Monica Brindle- Mandolin and Dave O&#8217;Connell on Bass.<br \/>\nSummer Sunday concerts begin at 6 p.m. in Tyrone\u2019s Reservoir Park and, in the event of rain, will be held in the Lutheran Church on Logan Avenue and Thirteenth Street.<br \/>\nAll concerts are made possible by a grant from the PA Council on the Arts, a state agency, the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency, and Tyrone Borough.<br \/>\nConcerts are free of charge and audience members should bring a chair or blanket for seating.<br \/>\nFor additional information contact the Arts Line Office at 684-ART2.<br \/>\nFinally, at 7 p.m. a live band will perform at Soldiers Park during \u201cParty in the Park\u201d.<br \/>\nEveryone is welcome to attend this event.
