International high school exchange students are coming to study in the Tyrone area during the 2008-09 school year.
\nThese students will integrate themselves into a Tyrone area family with the goal of experiencing American culture as an American high school student does.
\nIn turn they will provide insight into their own culture.
\nSTS Foundation, a non profit student exchange organization, is proud to help facilitate these relationships. They have been doing so for the past 20 years and look forward to finding new host families in Tyrone and connecting them with exchange students.
\nStudents like Matthew, who is a 17 year old boy from Waitoki, New Zealand. He loves competing in field hockey matches and also enjoys playing soccer and rugby. He says he is eager to experience life in the USA.
\nThea is a 16 year old girl from Bergisch-Gladbach, Germany who loves participating in tennis tournaments. She has played the piano since she was six and also sings in two choirs. She is attracted to the vastness of America and its geographical and cultural diversity.
\nThey are both excellent students and will have their own spending money and health insurance.
\nThe host family provides a separate bed, family meals and a safe environment.
