Eugene Arnold, 80, of Windy Hill Village of the Presbyterian Homes, Philipsburg, formerly of Osceola Mills, died Monday, March 3, 2008 at 1:50 p.m. at Tyrone Hospital.<br \/>\nHe was born September 25, 1927 in Philipsburg, a son of the late Julius and Ruth (Brown) Arnold.<br \/>\nHe was a Navy veteran of WWII and a member of C &amp; MA Church, Osceola Mills.<br \/>\nHe graduated from the former Osceola Mills High School in 1945 and retired from the state correctional institution at Rock View as a captain.<br \/>\nHe was married in Osceola Mills on January 10, 1948 to Virginia (Harper) Arnold.<br \/>\nAlso surviving are daughters: Sharon Burd and her husband Rev. Larry of Bethlehem and Peggy Conrad and her husband Leslie of Tyrone; a sister, Mrs. Harold (Betty Lou) Patterson of Sellersville; a brother, Leland Arnold of York; five grandchildren: Nathan Burd, Amy Robbins, Evan Burd, Lisa Rader and Melanie McKinney and five great-grandchildren.<br \/>\nHe was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Earl, Merle and Harold Arnold.<br \/>\nFuneral services will be held Friday, March 7, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Heath Funeral Home, Osceola Mills with Rev. Larry Burd and Rev. D.Z. Lewis officiating.<br \/>\nPlace of burial will be Bald Eagle Cemetery, RD Tyrone.<br \/>\nVisitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. to the funeral time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>J.
