{"id":140,"date":"2008-05-12T11:08:27","date_gmt":"2008-05-12T15:08:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/v3\/?p=140"},"modified":"2008-05-27T11:11:29","modified_gmt":"2008-05-27T15:11:29","slug":"%e2%80%98the-four-of-us%e2%80%99-to-perform-at-first-assembly-of-god","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/?p=140","title":{"rendered":"\u2018The Four of Us\u2019 to perform at First Assembly of God"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/v3\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/05\/11582_4-of-us-singersw.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-141\" title=\"11582_4-of-us-singersw\" src=\"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/v3\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/05\/11582_4-of-us-singersw-300x201.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"201\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/05\/11582_4-of-us-singersw-300x201.jpg 300w, https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/05\/11582_4-of-us-singersw.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a> \u201cThe Four of Us\u201d, a local bluegrass country group from the Mount Union area will be appearing in concert at First Assembly of God Church on May 18.<br \/>\nThe church is located on 12th Street and Blair Avenue and the concert will begin at 6:30 p.m.<br \/>\n\u201cThe Four of Us\u201d has been together for eight years, starting as a group in 2000, singing at local churches, street fairs and reunions among other events.<br \/>\nThe group started out \u2018porch pickin\u2019 with Fred Fortney playing the mandolin, Tom Hancock playing the guitar and banjo and Web Smith on the bass guitar.<br \/>\nThey sang publicly for the first time at the Singers Gap Church.<br \/>\nTwo years later, Andy Noel joined the group as a rhythm guitar playing, freeing Tom to play the banjo.<br \/>\nAll four group members sing and they write most of the songs they perform.<br \/>\n\u201cThe Four of Us\u201d members come from a variety of backgrounds. Fred is a brick layer by trade while Tom owns his own construction business. Web works for the postal service and Andy is an electrician.<br \/>\nPastor Glunt of First Assembly invites everyone to come hear \u201cThe Four of Us\u201d on May 18, saying \u201cYou\u2019ll love this music, so come ready to tap your feet.\u201d<br \/>\nAlso, don\u2019t forget the church\u2019s 10:30 a.m. worship service is being broadcast live over WTRN radio during May.<br \/>\nLooking ahead, on Father\u2019s Day, June 15, all the dads present in church will receive a gift also.<br \/>\nOn June 22 at 6:30 p.m. there will be a baptismal service for those wishing to be baptized in water. First Assembly members who wish to participate in this special event should contact Pastor Glunt.<br \/>\nFinally, the church will once again host its Sunday night fellowships.<br \/>\nThe fellowship night is scheduled for the first Sunday of the month, immediately following Sunday evening service.<br \/>\nA new addition to the First Assembly lineup of events is \u201cFriendship Dinners\u201d which will be held after the morning service on the fifth Sunday\u2019s of the month, when there is one.<br \/>\nThe Friendship Dinners will occur four times a year and are being promoted to encourage fellowship and to allow a time for people to come to know others who attend the church.<br \/>\nEveryone is invited to come and make a friend.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cThe Four of Us\u201d, a local bluegrass country group from the Mount Union area will be appearing in concert at First Assembly of God Church on May 18.
