Verna M. Stouffer, 84, of Grazierville, RD4, Tyrone died Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at 2:25 p.m. at Altoona Regional Health System- Altoona Hospital Campus.
\nShe was born April 5, 1923 in Ironsville, a daughter of Frederick and Blanche (McFalls) Eckley. On April 27, 1940 in Tyrone she married Robert H. Stouffer. He died February 12, 1987.
\nSurviving are 3 daughters, Janet Mentzer and husband Francis of Patton, Judith A. Ray of Tyrone, Donna Cherry of Tyrone, 3 sons, Robert E. and wife Marsha of Malvern, Arkansas, James L. and wife Leona of Tyrone, Dennis Lee of Lewisville, Ohio, 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-granddaughters, 4 brothers Eugene Eckley of Lamar, Kenneth Eckley of Philipsburg, Clarence and Ernest Eckley both of Tyrone and a sister Dorothy Sprankle of Grazierville. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Florence Harpster and Mary Pierce.
\nMrs. Stouffer was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Tyrone.
\nShe enjoyed sewing, crocheting, embroidering, puzzles, gardening and canning.
\nFuneral services will be held Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Feller Memorial Home with Pastor William Glunt officiating. Interment will follow at Seven Stars Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of services.
