Betty J. Kaup, 83, formerly of Bellwood, died Saturday morning, January 5, 2008 at Altoona Center for Nursing Care.
\nShe was born February 27, 1924 in Grazierville, a daughter of the late Ernest and Myrtle (Hinton) Waite. She married Richard F. Kaup on October 8, 1945 in San Francisco. He died on July 27, 1970.
\nSurviving are sons: Douglas R. and William J., both of Aurora, Co.; grandchildren: Nicole and Christopher; three great-grandchildren and a sister, Gladys Turnbaugh of Tyrone.
\nShe was preceded in death by a son: Brian Scott Kaup on October 15, 1993; brothers: Dick and Millard Waite and sister, Merriam Levingood.
\nBetty retired as a salesperson in the shoe department of Gable\u2019s Dept. Store, Altoona, with 40 years of service and had worked at Lasser\u2019s Shoe Store, Hollidaysburg.
\nBetty was a foster grandparent at Myers Elementary School, Bellwood for 15 years.
\nShe was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Bellwood.
\nFriends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2008 at the Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood.
\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Kennedy officiating.
