\"\"<\/a> (Editor\u2019s note: Recently, The Daily Herald sent out letters to individuals listed in our coverage area who have filed for candidacy in the November 6 general election. Individuals were asked to send back the information so that the Herald could spotlight each candidate to the public. The Daily Herald compiled the information on the candidates and is currently running the spotlight articles to provide complete coverage of the election to our readers. It should be noted that if a candidate did not provide information to the Herald, then no information will be printed about them for the upcoming election.)
\nRev. Norman E. Huff, a veteran member of the Tyrone Area School Board, is seeking another term in office.
\nHuff has served on the board for 10 years. He is seeking re-election for another four year term.
\n\u201cI believe that we have one of the best school districts in the state and I want to continue to see that we remain the best,\u201d Huff said. \u201cThe main reason for running for school directors is our children, youth and teachers. We have a great faculty and administration, and we want to support them in giving the very best to our school district.\u201d
\nHuff and his wife Anna Mae have been married for over 50 years. They have four children: Gary, Tim, Susan Daly and Debbie Estright. They have seven grandchildren, two of which attend school in the Tyrone Area School District.
\nHuff is a retired pastor of the United Methodist Church. He served as pastor at Tyrone\u2019s Church of the Good Shepherd for many years. He graduated from Lewistown Area School District, Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA and received his Master\u2019s Degree from American University (Wesley Theological Seminary) in Washington, DC.
\nHuff is a member of the Tyrone Kiwanis Club, Golden Eagle Monogram Club, the Salvation Army Board, Food Bank Board and serves as a volunteer at Epworth Manor and the Tyrone Food Bank.
