{"id":3043,"date":"2007-10-15T09:45:30","date_gmt":"2007-10-15T13:45:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/v3\/?p=3043"},"modified":"2008-09-05T09:46:04","modified_gmt":"2008-09-05T13:46:04","slug":"variety-of-halloween-events-scheduled-for-upcoming-weeks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/?p=3043","title":{"rendered":"Variety of Halloween events scheduled for upcoming weeks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Halloween may officially be two weeks away, but there are various options for Halloween lovers in our area in the upcoming weeks.<br \/>\nThe TACO Halloween parade in Tyrone is set for tomorrow at 6 p.m. Registration for the parade is at the Tyrone Borough Highway Building on Lincoln Avenue from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m.<br \/>\nThe Warriors Mark United Methodist Church will host an Octoberfest on Saturday, October 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The day will include crafts, lunch, soup\/bake sale and more.<br \/>\nThe Bellwood-Antis Halloween parade is set for next Tuesday, October 23. Participants are asked to line up at 5:30 p.m. and the parade will begin at 6 p.m.<br \/>\nTrick-or-treat night in the area, including Tyrone, Bellwood, Antis Township and Snyder Township, is scheduled for Thursday night, October 25 from 6 to 8 p.m.<br \/>\nAlso scheduled for trick-or-treat night is First Assembly of God\u2019s annual \u201cLight the Night\u201d. There will be games, prizes, face painting, puppet shows, Handi the Clown, candy, hot dogs, popcorn, hot chocolate and it\u2019s all free. The event is scheduled for October 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the church\u2019s parking lot behind Burger King.<br \/>\nFor those who prefer a haunted house experience, Lincoln Caverns is once again hosting its annual haunted tours.<br \/>\nWith over 20 years of haunted tour experience and expertise, the staff at Lincoln Caverns, near Huntingdon, is busy with preparations for its 24th annual Ghosts and Goblins Tours which began earlier this month.<br \/>\nThe unique tours provide surprises, scares, laughs and even some cave education to thousands of visitors each year. The tours offer a wide range of variety to fit any group or family\u2019s needs.<br \/>\nGhosts and Goblins 2007 is open to the public Fridays and Saturdays, through October 27. From 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturdays, visitors can enjoy a very special one-hour family tour through two beautiful crystal caverns, one haunted and one natural.<br \/>\nOn Fridays and Saturdays from 6 to 10 p.m., Lincoln Caverns offers an all-haunted, scary adventure featuring the haunted caverns and the increasingly horrifying haunted trail.<br \/>\nBoth daytime and evening tours provide visitors with two unique experiences for the price of one. Advance tickets for the annual fun-filled Halloween adventure are on sale now. Regular guided tours of the decorated and natural caverns are available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays.<br \/>\nGhosts and Goblins 2007 features all new Halloween themes. Costumed guides explain the wonders and highlights of a haunted Lincoln Caverns while supporting characters provide humor and horror along the way.<br \/>\nThis year, during daytime tours, an experienced staff member will guide visitors through Whisper Rocks, sharing the natural beauty of the cavern with the guests. For individuals who are looking for a totally haunted experience, on Friday and Saturday evenings, the Whisper Rocks leg of the tour can be replaced by a trip along the haunted trail running through the woods atop Warrior Ridge.<br \/>\nThe staff at Lincoln Cavern provides opportunities for all individuals to enjoy a spooky time, regardless of age. During the day, staff members take special care to make sure the \u2018fright level\u2019 is appropriate for the tour\u2019s participants. This special attention to guests makes the Ghosts and Goblins Tour an appropriate Halloween experience for everyone including organized groups such as Brownies and Cub Scouts to high school youth groups and senior citizens.<br \/>\nPackage tour options are available for organized groups. They include extra features such as panning for real gems and a Kids Cave Crawl. A brand new Halloween Party Pak also premiers this year, which includes all group activities plus a special costume party with a Halloween craft, pizza lunch, prizes and treats.<br \/>\nVisitors of all ages will enjoy the fall colors while walking Lincoln Caverns\u2019 nature trails, browsing in Raystown Country\u2019s largest souvenir and gift shop and panning for real gems in the sluice. Pavilion facilities and party rooms are available for group outings and October birthday parties. Primitive on-site camping at Warrior Ridge Campground is also an option individuals or groups may choose to take advantage of.<br \/>\nTickets for the Ghosts and Goblins Tours are sold both in advance and at the door. Advantages for customers purchasing tickets prior to the date of their tour will notice a savings, as well as avoid wait time upon arrival on the day of their visit.
