New print on display The newly released, limited edition aerial print of Tyrone by William Snyder III is now available for purchase. For more information, contact Executive Director of the Chamber Rose Black at 684-0736. Snyder is set to have a display of the prints at Farm\/City Day, which is scheduled for this Saturday at Reservoir Park from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine. The newly released, limited edition aerial print of Tyrone, \u201cTyrone – Land of the Noble\u201d, by William Snyder III is now available for purchase.
\nThere are only 500 of the signed and numbered 24 by 36 inch prints available.
\nEach print comes on high quality, 100 lb. paper, signed by Tyrone Mayor James Kilmartin.
\nThe cost is $75, and the prints are available at the Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce office.
\nSnyder said the idea for the print came about from Mayor Kilmartin, who knew he was an artist, and asked him to do something special for the town of Tyrone.
\nAccording to Snyder, the production of the photo seemed to come together perfectly. He works in a frame factory, his boss owns a plane, and his good friend has great photography equipment, so Snyder was able to utilize both the plane and equipment to get just the right aerial shot of the town of Tyrone.
\n\u201cI thought it was very significant pre-I-99, and pre-development,\u201d Snyder said about the aerial photo shot.
\nHe added the photo provides a beautiful view of the town, and its value will appreciate over time, since the landscape of the area will eventually change with growth and development. It provides a nice \u201csnapshot\u201d in time of how Tyrone appears today for future generations to enjoy in years to come.
\nThis newly released print is also special because the last known aerial photo of Tyrone reproduced for sale to the public was in 1895.
\nSnyder added that he chose to include \u201cLand of the Noble\u201d to be printed in the corner of each photo because that\u2019s what the word \u201cTyrone\u201d means in Gaelic. Snyder believes it\u2019s important for the photo to help both residents of Tyrone and out-of-towners alike realize the beauty and \u201cnobility\u201d of the town, and he hopes that it will help residents take added pride in their community.
