{"id":3241,"date":"2007-09-29T12:02:40","date_gmt":"2007-09-29T16:02:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/v3\/?p=3241"},"modified":"2008-09-05T12:05:47","modified_gmt":"2008-09-05T16:05:47","slug":"tyrone-girls-tennis-has-busy-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/?p=3241","title":{"rendered":"Tyrone girls tennis has busy week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Tyrone girls tennis team had a long week packed into just three short days this week.<br \/>\nThe Lady Eagles began the week on Monday afternoon with a match against always tough State College, traveled to the Altoona Mansion Park courts to play Bishop Guilfoyle and then concluded a hectic three days on Wednesday by welcoming Central Mountain.<br \/>\nOn Monday, the prot\u00e9g\u00e9s of Tyrone tennis coach Mike Hample had to deal with the added woes of having to shuffle the line-up with several girls out due to injury and illness. State College swept Tyrone 7-0, although Hample singled out Brittany Hosband, who moved into the number one singles slot and Laura Thompson, who was moved into the number four singles position.<br \/>\nOn Tuesday, at Mansion Park, BG won 7-0, with Lady Eagle MaryElyn Hunter dropping 6-4, 6-2 decision at the number four singles. Hunter then teamed with Amy Lewis in the number one doubles position. Although the Tyrone girls eventually dropped a tight 8-6 set, the Eagles were in that match-up all the way.<br \/>\nCompleting the week, on Wednesday at the Clay Avenue courts, Tyrone dropped a 6-1 match to Central Mountain.<br \/>\nAmy Lewis dropped a 6-3, 6-0 decision at number three and MaryElyn Hunter lost 6-2, 6-2 at number five singles.<br \/>\nLewis and Hunter then teamed up in the number one doubles to drop a close 8-6 set that went back and forth the entire game.<br \/>\nBritt Hosband and Laura Thompson teamed up at the number two doubles for an extremely exciting 8-7 tiebreaker win.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Tyrone girls tennis team had a long week packed into just three short days this week.
