Beulah Lorraine (Garner) Felton, 72, of Box 238, Hesston, R.R. 1, died at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, at her residence in Penn Township.
\nBorn Dec. 1, 1934, in her family home in Penn Township, Hesston, she was a daughter of the late Melvin Clyde and Olive Elizabeth (Norris) Garner. She was united in marriage to John Elwood Felton June 18, 1953, in Mansfield, Ohio. Mr. Felton survives at their Penn Township residence.
\nMrs. Felton is also survived by three sons, Dennis E. Felton and wife, Janie, James Creek; Kenneth E. Tucker and wife, Sandy, Mapleton; and Thomas E. Felton and wife, Connie, DuBois; a granddaughter, Cindy Felton, DuBois; five stepgrandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
\nShe is also survived by a sister and brother, Helen M. Myers and husband, Casper, Huntingdon; and Melvin R. Garner and wife, Jean, Carlisle; and a former daughter-in-law, Karen J. Ponish, Huntingdon.
\nShe was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine E. Myers.
\nMrs. Felton was an active member of Jacob\u2019s White Church, Hesston, where she joined as a teenager and remained active in various church organizations and groups through the years, including serving as the organist for over 20 years.
\nShe attended the former Upper Corner School House, Penn Township, Hesston.
\nPrimarily a homemaker, Mrs. Felton also worked for a number of years at the Arrow Shirt Factory, Huntingdon, and later at the G.C. Murphy Store, Huntingdon. Except for six and one-half years when her husband worked at the Westinghouse Plant in Ohio, she was a lifetime resident of Penn Township. She returned to Penn Township in 1956.
\nMrs. Felton particularly enjoyed playing both the organ and the piano for services and functions not only in church, but also at home. She was an avid bingo player, enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening and did needlework and crochet work as well. Mrs. Felton and her husband also opened their home to and cared for foster children for a number of years.
\nFuneral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at the Cutright Funeral Homes \u2014 Smithfield Chapel, 313 Fairgrounds Road, Huntingdon, with the Rev. Dr. Theodore E. Kiffer, Hospice chaplain, officiating, and assisted by the Rev. H. Lloy Blattenberger. Interment will be made in Jacob\u2019s White Church Cemetery, Penn Township.
