Rexford David Gardner, Jr., 43 of RD 3 Box 47, Tyrone, died Friday, August 24, 2007 at his residence.
\nHe was born May 4, 1964 in Tyrone a son of Rexford D. Gardner, Sr. and Ethel L. Denny.
\nHe is survived by his mother and a daughter, Annie G. Gardner of RD 3 Tyrone.
\nAlso surviving are brothers: James E. Denny; Gerald E. Gardner (Phyllis) and Kevin L. Gardner of Tyrone; a sister, Mona Sharer of Bald Eagle and a brother, John W. Peterson (Linda) of Millheim; step-brothers Richard Rhoades (Stacey) of Tyrone and Chris Rhoades of Lancaster.
\nHe was preceded in death by his father; a sister, Laura Mae and brothers: Ronald D., David O. and Amos B. \u201cPete\u201d Gardner.
\nHe was a graduate of Tyrone High School, served in the U.S. Army for two years and was a member of the Hookies Fire Co.
\nHe was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved nature.
\nHe had been employed at Mae Construction, Tyrone, for the past 15 years.
\nFuneral services will be held Thursday, August 30, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Pastor Gerald E. Gardner officiating.
\nFriends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. and one hour before the service on Thursday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
