Throughout the month of August, Family Services Incorporated\u2019s Supportive Services office at Evergreen Manors, the Hollidaysburg Area YMCA, and the YMCA Children\u2019s Center will be collecting school supplies. \u2011
\n\u201cWe are asking area residents and businesses to help provide school supplies for about 50 children at Evergreen Manors whose families cannot purchase the supplies their children need,\u201d explained Gunter Volders, Marketing and Communications Manager for Family Services Incorporated.\u2011 \u201cIt is important that each child be able to blossom to their full potential in school. Having the right tools is a great start.\u201d
\nNeeded school supplies include: pens, pencils, erasers, notebooks, backpack, lunchboxes, calculators, etc.
\nGift cards can also be used so staff can purchase exact items that are often required by the school districts.
\nDonations can be dropped off at the Supportive Services office at Evergreen Manors, 5928A Evergreen Court, Altoona, PA, the Hollidaysburg Area YMCA on Penn and Hewitt Street, Hollidaysburg, PA, or Family Services\u2019 offices, 2022 Broad Avenue, Altoona, PA.
