Over the past week, the Kiwanis 13\/14 year-old Teener League baseball team earned two more wins and one loss. The team\\’s overall record improved to 7-3.
\nWednesday, May 23
\nAnsley RV 9 Kiwanis 3
\nThe Kiwanis team faced Ansley RV from Hollidaysburg. Kiwanis lost the game by a score of 9 – 3.
\nAnsley RV capitalized on 10 walks and pounded out eight hits against Kiwanis pitching.
\nAnsley RV pitching from both Donovan and Barton allowed only three Kiwanis hits and struck out 13 batters.
\nWebster, Barton, and Donovan all recorded two hits a piece for Ansley RV.
\nCaleb Snyder, Jeremy Miller, and A.J. Welsh each had one hit a piece for Kiwanis.
\nDonovan earned the victory for Ansley RV, while Trevor Jackson took the loss for Kiwanis.
\nSaturday, May 26
\nTyrone Kiwanis 17 Hollidaysburg Hoss\u2019s 1, 4 inn.
\nThe Kiwanis team traveled to Duncansville, to face Hoss\\’s of Hollidaysburg. The Kiwanis team rebounded from the prior loss by crushing their opponent in 4 innings by a score of 17-1.
\nThe team pounded out 14 hits through four innings of play.
\nJD Dorminy and Caleb Snyder each had three hits a piece, while Korry Cowher and Jeremy Miller each recorded two hits.
\nKorry Cowher earned the victory on the mound pitching three innings, while striking out three and allowing only three hits.
\nTrevor Jackson closed it up in the fourth inning with a three-up and three-down performance.
\nMonday, May 28
\nTyrone Kiwanis 20 Caldwell Banker 5, 5 inn.
\nThe Kiwanis team hosted another Hollidaysburg team known as Caldwell Banker at Ferner Field.
\nThe team continued on their winning ways by slugging their way to a 20 to 5 victory in five innings.
\nCaleb Snyder went 4-or-4 including two doubles and A.J. Welsh went 3-for-4. James Russell, Jeremy Miller, and Jeff Rawson each recorded two hits in the 20 hit barrage!
\nJ. Yeager recorded two hits for Caldwell Banker.
\nJames Russell earned the victory on the mound pitching four innings while allowing five runs on six hits and striking out five batters. JD Dorminy closed it up in the fifth inning to secure the victory.
\nTeam Statistics Leaders Update
\nOn the hitting side, Jeremy Miller is leading the team in hitting with a .552 batting average followed by A.J. Welsh .417, JD Dorminy .393, Korry Cowher at .393 and Jeff Rawson .348. Caleb Snyder recently became hot with the bat going seven for his last seven at bats improving his batting average to .367.
\nOn the pitching side of things, Korry Cowher has a 3-1 record, while Trevor Jackson and James Russell both have 2-1 records. The Kiwanis pitching staff combined has recorded 67 strike outs and only 36 walks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
