Everyone is invited to enjoy dinner, along with a performance of \u201cGrace and Glorie\u201d, at the Bald Eagle United Methodist Church. Faces and Places Ministries, the Tyrone Salvation Army and the Bald Eagle United Methodist Church will present the play, along with a delicious meal, on March 3.
\nOver the past five years, you may have heard mention of Faces and Places Ministries.
\nProviding a variety of activities including plays and dinner theaters, Faces and Places Ministries is dedicated to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ through creative art forms.
\nThe ministry has been a part of the community for five years, ministering the gospel in over 250 churches, to over 15,000 and over 2,500 children.
\nFaces and Places founder, Drew Baker, said in a press release, \u201cWhen we as a ministry look at these numbers, we know God is working in miraculous ways.
\n\u201cIt has been the pleasure of those involved in this ministry to be in partnership with many individuals, churches and civic organizations to bring forth the gospel through creative ministry the past five years.\u201d
\nCurrently the group is working with two other local ministries to bring the gospel to life in a dinner theater production, \u201cGrace and Glorie\u201d.
\n\u201cGrace and Glorie\u201d is a serious drama concerning the role society plays in caring for the elderly.
\nGrace, played by Betsy Beck of Tyrone, is a 90-year-old Virginian, isolated in her mountain cabin. Bed-ridden with cancer, Grace\u2019s only companion is the good Lord.
\nGloria, played by Donna Derdel of State College, is a top New York City executive whose heart has been hardened by the loss of her young son.
\nTouching and poignant lessons are learned between the two and Gloria\u2019s heart is softened and her faith restored as she finds herself volunteering to help Grace in her final days.
\nAlthough the message is heavy, it is interspersed with comic relief.
\nThe drama is under the direction of Drew M. Baker and Deb Shawley of Faces and Places Ministries is the stage manager.
\nDinner will be provided by Bob Maser and the Tyrone Service Center of the Salvation Army.
\nThe Bald Eagle United Methodist church graciously welcomed this production and ministry event into their facility.
\nThe full course roast beef dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. on March 3 with the show following at 7 p.m.
