In his message, Liller plans to discuss how Christians can nourish themselves through daily prayer, Bible reading, and church worship.
Pastor Mark will bring the morning message on five out of the next six winter Sundays in the absence of Presbyterian Interim Minister Norman Huff, who presently is recuperating from major back surgery.
Pastor Liller has served as Epworth Chaplain since 2005, when he replaced Chaplain Joan Smith there. Prior to coming to Epworth, Pastor Mark was Minister at Altoona’s 28th Street Church Of The Brethren, along Union Avenue, near Altoona Bible Church.
A native of Dayton, Ohio, Reverend Liller graduated from Bethany Theological Seminary in Richmond, Indiana as a Church Of The Brethren Minister. Before answering the call to the Brethren ministry, Pastor Liller worked as a purchasing agent for a computer company. He now resides in Hollidaysburg with his wife Dorothy, who teaches family and consumer science at Altoona Area High School.
For morning worship, the congregational hymns, choir anthem, and organ voluntaries will support the theme of Pastor Mark’s Message – Nourishment By Daily Prayer, Bible Reading, and Church Worship. The theme of daily prayer will find expression in William Walford’s 1842 hymn Sweet Hour Of Prayer. The Westminster Choir will support the theme of Bible reading in a 1984 anthem entitled Thy Word Is A Lamp Unto My Feet And A Light Unto My Path by Michael Smith and Amy Grant. Worship will close with the rousing 1874 hymn by Clearfield Composer Philip Bliss entitled Wonderful Words Of Life, a song that exults the value of holy scripture in the life of a Christian.
One of the musical highlights of this Presbyterian worship service will arrive when the children’s Sunday School Choir sings the beloved 1860 hymn entitled Jesus Loves Me. Directed by their teachers, the children’s choir will render this hymn with some simple choreography as a spiritual introduction to Saint Valentine’s Day on Wednesday, February 14.
As mid-winter and the season of Lent approach, the 82 members of Tyrone Presbyterian Church invite folks in need of a spiritual warm-up and nourishment to join them as Church of the Brethren Pastor Mark Liller leads worship at 10:30 a.m. this Sunday.

At 10:30 a.m. worship on Sunday, February 11, the 82 members of Tyrone Presbyterian Church will hear about Spiritual Nourishment in a message delivered by Reverend Mark Liller, Chaplain at Epworth Manor Care Home.
