Players must reside in Warriors Mark Township, Franklin Township, Spruce Creek Township or Snyder Township (Blair County). Warriors Mark Little League is a part of the Tri-County Little League consisting of teams from Port Matilda, Huston Township, Halfmoon Township and Warriors Mark.<br \/>\nThe normal season of play lasts from the beginning of April through the end of June.  Anyone with questions can contact Jim Dorminy, President at 632-7514.<\/p>\n<p>Collecting donations for CPHS<br \/>\nCub Scout Pack 320 will be collecting donations of pet food items, litter, and cleaning supplies (detergent, bleach, etc.), as a community service project to benefit the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society from Feb. 1 through Feb. 10. A donation box will be available at Martin\\&#8217;s Food Store, Bellemeade location during this time. For additional information contact Harry Mogle at 684-4263.<\/p>\n<p>Senior night<br \/>\nThe TAHS Basketball Booster Club will be sponsoring \\&#8221;Senior Nights\\&#8221; for the Boys and Girls basketball teams.  Senior athletes, along with their parents, will be honored for all their hard work and dedication.<br \/>\nSenior Night for the Girls will be held Tuesday, January 30 and Senior Night for the Boys will be held on Friday, February 2.  The program for both teams will begin following the junior varsity games at approximately 6:45 p.m.<br \/>\nPlease plan to attend this event to show your support of these Senior Athletes!<\/p>\n<p>Buffet dinner<br \/>\nThe Warriors Mark United Methodist Church will host a buffet dinner on Friday, February 2 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.<br \/>\nThe dinner will feature meat loaf, turkey broccoli bake, sour cream noodles, candied sweet potatoes, buttered peas, toss salad, rolls and graham cracker pudding. The Warriors Mark Church is handicapped accessible. Anyone with questions can contact the church office at 632-6906.<\/p>\n<p>Faces and Places Ministries casting for spring<br \/>\nproduction<br \/>\nFaces and Places Ministries recently announced the spring production will be \u201cDavid, A Man After God\\&#8217;s Own Heart\u201d.<br \/>\nIn May, Faces and Places Ministries will launch this sprawling epic of an ancient time summed up in one man\\&#8217;s life, King David.<br \/>\nFor interested individuals, Faces and Places Ministries will be casting all roles for this production on Sunday, February 4 at 2:30 p.m. at the new building, Faces and Places Ministries Center for the Christian Arts, located at 954 Logan Ave.<br \/>\nBoth singing and non-singing roles are available.<br \/>\nTo make an appointment or for more information, call Faces and Places Ministries at 932-4085 or 684-6069.<br \/>\nInterested individuals can also visit the website at www.facesandplacesministries.com or www.facesandplacesministries.org.<\/p>\n<p>Presbyterians To Focus On Faith For Today<br \/>\nAt 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, February 4, 2007, Interim Pastor Norman Huff will lead the 82 members of Tyrone Presbyterian Church in a worship service entitled \u201cFocus On Faith For Today\u201d.<br \/>\nPastor Huff will deliver a message about faith based on the revised lectionary scripture readings.<br \/>\nThe Westminster Choir will offer an anthem entitled \u201cMy Faith Has Found A Resting Place\u201d.<br \/>\nToday, as the Iraq War continues to darken the horizon, modern Tyrone Presbyterians invite believers to join their worship leader Reverend Huff and church members  at 10:30 a.m. this Sunday, February 4, as they  give thanks for the faith of their spiritual ancestors, and then focus on strengthening their faith for today.<\/p>\n<p>TYBA registration<br \/>\nTyrone Youth Baseball Association will hold registration for major and minor league baseball teams on Tuesday, February 6 and Wednesday, February 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bull Pen. Any boy or girl born between May 1, 1994 and April 30, 2002 is eligible to play. Interested individuals must have an original copy of their birth certificate. Anyone who did not return last year\u2019s uniform are asked to bring it to registration.<br \/>\nAnyone with questions can call Peggy Snyder, player agent, at 684-9604 or Jerry Shetler, president, at 684-2567. There is a fee to register.<\/p>\n<p>Allegheny Chorale spring season<br \/>\nAllegheny Chorale is scheduled to started practice for its spring season in the TAHS Chorus Room. Any adults interested in joining, and also tenth through 12th grade students, are invited to attend the practices. The deadline for new members is February 6.<\/p>\n<p>NARFE meeting<br \/>\nMembers of Chapter 328, National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association met January 12 at noon at King\u2019s Restaurant, 3000 Sixth Avenue, for lunch and a business meeting.<br \/>\nIt was decided to once again have the annual August picnic at American Legion Park in Hollidaysburg and the Christmas party at Trinity United Methodist Church, Bellwood.<br \/>\nThe next meeting will be at noon at King\u2019s on Friday, February 9. All active and retired Federal employees and spouses are welcome.<\/p>\n<p>Just Desserts<br \/>\nJust Desserts the second Annual Valentines Day Nightclub will be held Saturday, February 10 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.<br \/>\nMusic for your dancing and listening pleasure provided by: Mick and Terri Dennis.<br \/>\nEnjoy a sumptuous array of home made desserts created by members of the TCP.<br \/>\nBYOB. Phone 684-ART2 for additional information and reservations.<\/p>\n<p>Chocolate Festival<br \/>\nThe Tyrone Church of the Brethren, on the corner of Adams and 18th street, is having a Chocolate Festival from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday February 11 to raise money for Disaster Relief ministries.<br \/>\nAdmission is free for those who want to purchase treats to eat in or take out, bid on the Silent Auction for chocolate gift baskets, or shop in the Sweetheart Sweet Shoppe to buy a gift for your sweetie.<br \/>\nSeveral of the churches bakers and confectioners will be competing in a Chocolate Tasting Competition. To be involved in the tasting and judging of entries a ticket must be purchased for a small fee.<br \/>\nCome help raise money for Disaster Relief efforts and enjoy the fellowship that surrounds this event.<br \/>\nCall the church for details 684-4940.<br \/>\nNatural Biodiversity representative to speak to LJRA<br \/>\nScott Millberg, projects coordinator for the non-profit conservation group, \u201cNatural Biodiversity\u201d, will be presenting to the Little Juniata River Association during their monthly meeting on February 13 at the Tyrone Snyder Public Library in the Community Room at 7 p.m. The Little Juniata River Association is a local non-profit group whose mission is to monitor, preserve and improve the Little \u201cj\u201d as a cold-water resource. The public is welcome to attend.<br \/>\nAccording to Scott, \u201cNatural Biodiversity\u201d is focused on the control of herbaceous, invasive species, such as Japanese Knotweed, which is known to have established itself along the banks of the Little Juniata and elsewhere in the Juniata Watershed. \u201cNatural Biodiversity\u201d and Southern Alleghenies Conservancy have recently received federal funding from the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service grant program. This project will access the affect of the invasive species presence on the Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP), Conservation Securities Program (CSP), and stream bank fencing projects.  Eventually a planning committee will be formed to develop an invasive species management plan, pinpointing locations and identifying best control practices, beginning with the lands along the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River.<\/p>\n<p>Women\u2019s Day<br \/>\nEmmanuel Baptist Church of Tyrone will be hosting a Women\u2019s Day with the theme, Relationships, on Saturday, February 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.<br \/>\nThis will be a day of fun, fellowship and growth.<br \/>\nThere will be a time of worship, a large group session with Julia Wiley as the main speaker, breakout sessions, a skit, lunch and more.<br \/>\nSome of the breakout sessions may include: a craft, finances, parenting, daily quiet times, canning, etc.<br \/>\nPlease call Sarah at 684-1001 or Julia at 684-3882 for more information or to register. There is no fee, however there will be a donation jar for anyone who would like to help with the cost of food.<\/p>\n<p>2007-08 registration now open<br \/>\nThe Warriors Mark United Methodist Church announced 2007-08 registration is now open. The church offers a program for three, four and five-year-olds to attend class three days a week. Classes are held from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.<br \/>\nCall 632-6906 for more information or to obtain a registration packet.<\/p>\n<p>Tyrone History Museum closed for winter<br \/>\nThe Tyrone History Museum is closed for the winter. The museum will reopen Sunday, April 1, 2007.<br \/>\nFor more information, contact the Tyrone Area Historical Society at 684-5141 or visit the website at www.tyronehistory.org.<br \/>\nGift shop items can be purchased on Wednesdays from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Society\u2019s office\/research library in the Tyrone Shopping Center, Washington Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>Public walking<br \/>\nPublic walking at the Tyrone High School has once again started for the winter season. Walkers are invited to walk Monday through Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. There will be no walking when school is not in session. Running is not permitted. Children must be supervised. Rubber-tired strollers only.<\/p>\n<p>Master Beekeeper<br \/>\nMaster Beekeeper will make educational and informative presentations to a class or group on honeybees and beekeeping. For more information, call 684-1783.<\/p>\n<p>Singles 45 Plus<br \/>\nSingles 45 Plus meets every third Tuesday of the month. Interested individuals are invited to come for a meal and to socialize.
