A theft by deception case occurred in Snyder Township around the date of December 15.
\nPA State Police from Hollidaysburg report that Bernard Sherwin, age 63 of Tyrone, lent $500 to the suspect, a man known to him. The suspect paid him back with a post dated check and stopped payment on the check.

\nA theft occurred along Beechwood Drive in Antis Township a some point between April 2006 and January 12, 2007.
\nThe victim, Neal Grove of Altoona, received a phone call from a New York Trooper advising him they had recovered a pistol owned by him. When the victim went to check for his pistol, he discovered that it was missing. The pistol was a 357 caliber.
\nAnyone with any information is asked to contact PA State Police at Hollidaysburg.

\nSR 453 in Snyder Township was the scene of a one car accident on January 18.
\nMichael Ellenberger, age 28 of Tyrone, was southbound on SR 453. His right front tire blew out as he was negotiating a curve. He lost control of his vehicle and drove through a set of guidewires and wood posts.
\nEllenberger was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured.
