The kick off for this new ministry is Saturday, January 13, at 7 p.m. in the Church Fellowship Hall.<br \/>\nSaturday Night Light will be held on the second and fourth Saturdays each month. This service features live music by \\&#8221;Praise Unplugged.\\&#8221; The Bald Eagle UMC is located on Bald Eagle Pike in Bald Eagle, just a short distance north of the I-99\/220 intersection. For more information, contact the church office at 684-5801.<\/p>\n<p>Special service<br \/>\nNorthwood Baptist Chapel will have special speakers, Paul and Wendy Daku from Sigatoka, Fiji Islands, South Pacific, in the 6 p.m. service January 14. They serve under Baptist Intl. Missions, Inc., and his father, Paul Daku, Sr., is overseeing his Harvest Baptist Church while Paul, Jr., is on furlough. They have daughters, Jamie and Andrea with them. Jamie enjoyed getting out to see and play in the snow for the first time in  her life in Erie, PA.<br \/>\nEveryone is cordially invited to attend. Please leave any questions on Pastor Tangen\\&#8217;s answering service at 684-3958.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday service at Tyrone Presbyterian<br \/>\nLike everyone else, the 83 members of Tyrone Presbyterian Church may be aging, but at 10:30 a.m. worship this Sunday, January 14, they surely will swing as they sing spirituals to celebrate the 24th anniversary of Martin Luther King weekend.<br \/>\nLeading this Sunday of swinging spirituals will be Reverend Norman Huff. Just last week, Huff became Interim Presbyterian Pastor for the next five months, from January to June 2007. Mr. Huff will favor people with a solo spiritual. Also, he will lead folks in singing the rousing hymn \u201cHe\u2019s Got the Whole World in His Hands.\u201d<br \/>\nThe Westminster Choir will transport listeners back to the long-ago days of their Bible school and church camp years with their lighthearted rendition of the spiritual called \u201cThis Little Light of Mine, I\u2019m Going to Let it Shine\u201d. Church organist Richard Merryman will offer a blues\/jazz piano rendition of the comforting spiritual entitled \u201cNobody Knows the Trouble I\u2019ve Seen\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Blood pressure screenings<br \/>\nBlood Pressure Screenings will be held the fourth Wednesday from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at the Tipton Post Office and from 10:45 to 11:30 a.m. at the Bellwood Senior Center, One Main Street, Bellwood. Also, the third Thursday from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. at the Tyrone Senior Center.<\/p>\n<p>Class of 1955 lunch bunch<br \/>\nThe Tyrone Area High School class of 1955 will hold its monthly lunch get-together on Wednesday, January 17 at 12:30 p.m. at Joe\u2019s Place in Vail. Classmates, spouses and guests are welcome.<\/p>\n<p>Class of 1946<br \/>\nThe Tyrone High School class of 1946 will hold their monthly meeting at Joe\u2019s Place, Vail on Wednesday, January 17 at 1 p.m.<br \/>\nAll classmates and guests are invited to attend.<\/p>\n<p>Class of 1942<br \/>\nThe classmates of the Tyrone High School class of 1942 will hold their monthly luncheon at Joe\u2019s Place, Vail, on Thursday, January 18 at 12:30 p.m.<br \/>\nAll classmates and guests are invited to attend.<\/p>\n<p>Tyrone Sportsmens Assoc. work day<br \/>\nThe Tyrone Sportsmens Association will be having an outside work day on Saturday, January 20 beginning at 8 a.m., weather permitting. Clearing brush from the range area will be the main focus. Lunch will be provided.<\/p>\n<p>20th Annual Respect Life March<br \/>\nJoin the 20th Annual Respect Life March on Sunday, January 21 beginning at noon.<br \/>\nThe march will begin with a prayer service in St. Matthew Church in Tyrone. Participants will then walk the 1.25 miles to Oak Grove Cemetery to the grave of Baby Agnes Doe, for another short prayer service. A hot luncheon will be served in the parish hall after the march.<br \/>\nIndividuals are encouraged to bring a sign; those unable to walk this distance can feel free to join in by driving at the end of the procession.<br \/>\nThe march is sponsored by the St. Gregory Council No. 1218 Knights of Columbus. The American Legion will host the USO Tour presentation on Friday and Saturday, March 30 and 31.<br \/>\nVocal auditions for this event will be held in The Building, home of the Tyrone Community Players at 1019 Logan Ave., and are scheduled for Sunday, January 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. Please be prepared with a vocal selection that depicts the era of the cabaret.
