The Tyrone Area Boys swim team improved to 3 and 1 on the season while the girls fell to 2 and 2 after the two teams split their meet with Richland yesterday.
\nThe Tyrone boys defeated Richland by a single point. The final score was 85 to 84.
\nThe boys took first place in the 200 yd. Medley Relay with Ethan Nulton, Chris Closson, Dustin Elder and Phillip Kreckel coming in with a time of 1:59.22. Elder was a double winner for the boys. He scored first in both the 200 yd. Freestyle with a time of 2:08.10. In the 500 yd. Freestyle, Elder had a time of 5:38.29.
\nEthan Nulton was also a double winner for Tyrone. His time of 2:18.66 was best in the 200 yd. IM. He also had the best time in the 100 yd. Freestyle with a time of :53.24.
\nIn the 200 IM, Chris Closson placed second with a time of 2:55.09. Closson also placed second in the 100 yd. Breastroke with a time of 1:22.05. In the 100 yd. Butterfly, Phillip Kreckel\u2019s 1:18.59 was good for second. Tyrone also placed second in the 400 yd. Free Relay with a time of 4:36.16.
\nThe Tyrone girls fell by a count of 97 to 70 to Richland.
\nChynna Beisel had two first-place finishes for Lady Eagles. Her time of 2:22.89 was best in the 200 yd. Freestyle. She also took first in the 500 yd. Freestyle with a time of 6:23.63. Tyrone also took first in the 200 yd. Free relay with a time of 2:04.48 for the team of Salena Bradigan, Beisel, Kelly Pearson and Brittney Day. Tyrone\u2019s team of Amber Davis, Kassie Markel, Christina Brisban and Abby Cowfer finished second in the event with a time of 2:12.20.
\nThe Tyrone girls had second-place finishes in several other events. In the 200 yd. Medley Relay, Tyrone was second with a time of 2:21.57. Brittany Day\u2019s time of 1:20.04 was second in the 100 yd. Freestyle. Kelly Pearson was second in the 100 yd. Freestyle with a time of 1:03.99. Pearson time of 1:13.99 was also good for second in the 100 yd. Backstroke. Brisban\u2019s 1:34.65 was the second best time in the 100 yd. Breastroke.
