The Tyrone Salvation Army had an eventful year, establishing a new location at 908 Pennsylvania Avenue and upgrading its status from service unit to service center.
\nVolunteer chairperson, Bob Maser, said the Salvation Army Service Center would like to thank the Tyrone area community for the support with clothes, toys and finances over the past year.
\n\u201cWe had a great year, and I am looking forward to 2007,\u201d said Maser. \u201cI see great things happening in 2007.\u201d
\nHe added, \u201cI want to thank my kettle workers for a job well done and also those who helped distribute the clothes, food and toys.\u201d
\nAlong with helping those in need with their household bills, the Tyrone Salvation Army is able to furnish clothing and food items.
\nThe Tyrone Salvation Army always accepts clothing and food items. It also accepts appliances, bedding, etc.
\nMonetary contributions can be mailed to: Salvation Army Service Center, P.O. Box 142 Tyrone, PA 16686 and can also be dropped off at the 908 Pennsylvania Avenue location. The phone number is 684-1664.
