The Tyrone Area boys and girls swim teams both split in meets last night against Cambria Heights and Bellefonte.
\nThe Tyrone Boys defeated Cambria Heights 53 to 41 and lost to Bellefonte by a 59 to 35 margin. The girls also defeated Cambria Heights by a 55 to 39 count while losing to Bellefonte 63 to 30.
\nPhilip Kreckel scored an overall win in the 50 freestyle with a time of 0.24.44. Ethan Nulton came up a winner in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2.00.03.
\nTyrone Area Boys finished second in the 200 medley relay and Nulton placed second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:01.28. Dustin Elder placed second in the 500 freestyle. Tyrone boys finished second in the 200 free relay. The boys also had a second-place finish in the 400 free relay with a time of 4.23.54.
\nFor the Tyrone Area girls, Brittany Day came up a winner in the 50 freestyle with a time of 0.27.69. Salena Bradigan took second in the 200 yd. freestyle with a time of 2.28.64. She was also second in the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:06.90. Chynna Beisel had a second place finish in the 500 yd. freestyle. The Tyrone girls were also an overall second in the 200 free relay and the 400 free relay.
\nThe above results reflect Tyrone\u2019s overall finishes among the three teams. Both the boys and girls teams are now 2 and 1 on the season.
