All seats are reserved. Call 944-1948 to reserve your ticket or stop by the church office located at 800 Valley View Blvd. (near Dairy Queen).<br \/>\nThe time era is set in 1941 just before the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the U.S. entrance into WW II.  The musical captures the optimistic \\&#8221;can do\\&#8221; wholesomeness of the times. You\\&#8217;ll find your feet tapping, your heart full of laughter, and even some tears in your eyes. You will enjoy the jazzy sounds of swing during the big bands era of Glen Miller, the Christmas musical styles of Bing Crosby, Perry Como, and Lawrence Welk. Featuring live broadcasts from Fibber McGee &#038; Molly, the Lone Ranger, the Shadow, Andrew Sisters and Jack Benny.<br \/>\n \\&#8221;I\\&#8217;ll Be Home For Christmas\\&#8221; is a touching story of hope and community, and how we all can rediscover the Prince of Peace at Christmastime no matter what our circumstances.<br \/>\n Pleasant Valley Assembly of God has been an integral part of performing musical theater ministry for more than 20 years in Blair County.  The cast and crew come from different churches and denominations from all over the county, including Tyrone. Tickets can also be obtained at the door.<\/p>\n<p>Warriors Mark luminaries<br \/>\nDonations are currently being accepted for the Christmas Eve luminaries in Warriors Mark. There is a donation can located at Uni-Mart in Warriors Mark. Interested individuals can also send donations to the Warriors Mark United Methodist Church at PO Box 134, Warriors Mark, Pa. 16877.<br \/>\nAlso, anyone wishing to help set up the luminaries may contact the church office at 632-6906.<\/p>\n<p>Children\u2019s Christmas ornament workshop<br \/>\nThe Tyrone-Snyder Public Library is having a Children\\&#8217;s Christmas ornament make \\&#8217;n take workshop on Saturday, December 9 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Children who wish to attend should call 684-1133 to register before December 8, so that the library can have an idea of how many to prepare for. This is for children ages 5 to 12.<\/p>\n<p>Open house<br \/>\nThe sixth annual Montgomery family Christmas open house will be held Saturday, December 9 from 5:30 to 8 p.m., at 810 W. 15th St., Tyrone.<br \/>\nPlease feel free to stop by especially if you have little ones, Grandma\u2019s Singing Fuzzies are a kid pleaser. Each year keeps getting bigger and bigger. There is parking in the rear. The home is handicap accessible. <\/p>\n<p>DCWV Christmas banquet<br \/>\nThe Descendents of Civil War Veterans will have their Christmas banquet on December 9 at 5:30 p.m. at the Bellwood Firehall. Send reservations to Jack Stewart by December 1.<\/p>\n<p>Bellwood Soup Sampling<br \/>\nThe first ever Bellwood Soup Sampling is scheduled for Sunday, December 10 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. (after the parade) at the Bellwood Excelsior Fire Hall, 339 South First Street. Tickets will be available at the door. For more information, call 330-2486. Proceeds benefit Hope Center and Bellwood Fire Hall.<br \/>\nParticipating restaurants include: Bull Pen Restaurant and Lounge, Especially For You Catering, The Morning Star Family Restaurant, Downtown OIP and Grille at Coach\u2019s Corner, Bellwood Hometown Market and Houser\u2019s Subs.<br \/>\nTyrone Senior Center activities<br \/>\nThere will be a program on Consumer Fraud, Privacy and Record Keeping presented by the Penn State Extension Service at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 11 at the Senior Center on 3rd Street. All seniors are encouraged to attend; reservations are not necessary.<br \/>\nWednesday, December 13th  at 11 a.m. Marney Twoey from the Pa. State Health Center will conduct a Prime Time Health Program and on Friday seniors will have breakfast at \u201cJoe\u2019s Place at 9 a.m. and then a Dinner Dance from 4 until 10 p.m. with Rich Hagens. Lunches are available at 11:45 Monday through Friday at the Senior Center for a very modest fee; reservations are necessary.<br \/>\nFor details on programs activities and charges, if any, call Linda Bowers at 684-7853.    <\/p>\n<p>Financial Aid Night for college-bound seniors<br \/>\nThe Tyrone Area School District will be having a Financial Aid Night for parents of this year\u2019s college-bound seniors.  It will be held on Tuesday, December 12 at 7 p.m. in the TAHS Library. Mr. David Pearlman, Student Aid Officer, at Penn State Altoona will be the presenter. <\/p>\n<p>Holiday fruit basket sale<br \/>\nCub Pack 320 is selling Leidig\u2019s farm fresh fruit baskets for the holidays. Orders must be in by December 12. Baskets will be available for pickup on December 18 at the Church of the Good Shepherd at 6 p.m. or delivery can be arranged. For prices or to place an order, call Ron Osborne at 684-2488 or Harry Mogle at 684-4263.<br \/>\nClass of \u201944 luncheon canceled<br \/>\nThe class of 1944 luncheon scheduled for December 13 at noon at Joe\u2019s Place has been canceled until further notice.<\/p>\n<p>B-A AARP<br \/>\nThe Bellwood-Antis AARP Chapter No. 1063 will hold its Christmas party Wednesday, December 13, at the Trinity United Methodist Church at noon.<br \/>\nTickets go on sale at the November 8 AARP meeting at 1 p.m. or by calling 742-7276 or 742-7882. The last day for tickets are December 9. Anyone may come to the Christmas dinner. Those attending are asked to bring a food item for the food bank.<br \/>\nThe next AARP meeting is Wednesday, January 10 at the Bellwood-Antis Senior Center at 1 p.m. <\/p>\n<p>Chicago Rivet retirees<br \/>\nThe Chicago Rivet retirees will hold their monthly breakfast at Joe\u2019s Place at 8:30 a.m. The final meeting this year is scheduled for December 14.<\/p>\n<p>Tyrone Sportsman officer elections<br \/>\nThe Tyrone Sportsmans Association will be conducting its annual election of officers on Tuesday, December 19 at 8 p.m. Any member seeking an office should contact Kevin Swartz at 684-3675.<\/p>\n<p>Christmas Eve candlelight service<br \/>\nChristmas Eve candlelight service will be held at Warriors Mark United Methodist Church on Sunday, December 24 at 7 p.m. Bring the family and enjoy an evening of candlelight, music and an uplifting message to help focus on the true meaning of Christmas. The Steinbeiser Gospel Band will provide special music.<br \/>\nWeather permitting, the streets of Warriors Mark will be lined with Luminaries, a custom that started in Mexico many years ago as a symbol of light that would lead the Wisemen to baby Jesus\u2019 manger.<br \/>\nThe WMUMC is handicapped accessible.<\/p>\n<p>History Museum hours<br \/>\nThe Tyrone History Museum is currently open on Sundays and Wednesdays from 1 to 4 p.m. Interested individuals can also visit the website, www.tyronehistory.org for more information.<\/p>\n<p>Public walking<br \/>\nPublic walking at the Tyrone High School has once again started for the winter season. Walkers are invited to walk Monday through Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.<br \/>\nThere will be no walking when school is not in session. Running is not permitted. Children must be supervised. Rubber-tired strollers only.<\/p>\n<p>Tyrone Renaissance<br \/>\nThe Tyrone Middle and High School Renaissance would like to encourage grandparents to come and help out with the sundae bars for the students\u2019 good grades.
