Republican Congressman Bill Shuster has retained his Ninth Congressional seat with a margin of 60.2 percent over his Democratic challenger, school teacher Tony Barr. Shuster took 115,169 votes to Barr\u2019s 76,222 votes, with most counties reporting vote totals.
\nThere are 15 full and partial counties in the Ninth District, and while Shuster was victorious, Barr did win the counties of Cambria, Clearfield, Fayette and Westmoreland.
\nJuniata County this morning had not filed returns with the Pennsylvania Department of State.
\nIn a statement released last night, Shuster said, \u201cI\u2019d like to thank the voters of the district once again for their tremendous support in sending me back to Washington as their congressman. It continues to be an honor and a privilege to serve the people of this region, and I\u2019m eager to return to work representing our shared values and interests.
