In addition to serving as a singer and pianist in local churches, Alice also has performed with the Tyrone Community Players and with the Altoona Community Theatre in a variety of dramas.
For Presbyterian worship on Sunday, Alice will perform the 1973 Andrae Crouch Solo entitled “Jesus is the Answer”. Following that solo, she then will lead the audience in a second rousing Andrae Crouch Hymn entitled, “Soon and Very Soon We Are Going to See the King”, complete with clapping choreography.
Alice’s older sister, Anita Mulhollan Wray, will join Alice and her mother Ferroll for trio selections. Married to Jeffrey Wray of California Hollow, Anita and her husband are the parents of three grown children and one new granddaughter. Anita serves as a nurse at the V.A. Hospital in Altoona.
Without a doubt, Mrs. Ferroll Mulhollan instilled in her daughters Alice and Anita a love of music. For many years, Mrs. Mulhollan served as Director of the Adult Choir at Bald Eagle United Methodist Church. In addition to raising a family of three children with her husband Edward Mulhollan, Ferroll extended her church work far beyond the choir loft to include many summers as vacation Bible school director, as well as many years as one of the chefs from Bald Eagle Church for the Meals On Wheels mission program.
Besides hosting the Mulhollan family singers, Tyrone Presbyterians will raise their voices in a festival of hymns that emphasizes the blessing of walking with God. At the start of 10:30 worship, the people will sing journalist Washington Gladden’s hymn entitled “O Master, Let me Walk With Thee”. In that 1879 hymn, Pastor Gladden pleads for God’s Companionship along the walk of life.
Following the morning message by Pastor Robert Dunkelberger, participants will sing the spiritual which contains this prayer request, “Just a closer walk with Thee / Grant it, Jesus is my plea / Daily walking close to Thee / Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.”
At the offertory, Presbyterian organist Richard Merryman will provide four variations on a lively old Sunday school favorite which embraces one of the musical themes of the worship service, walking in the King’s highway.
Pastor Bob Dunkelberger encourages citizens to join Tyrone Presbyterians for 10:30 a.m. worship this Sunday, August 27. At that service, they can allow the music and the message to invigorate their journey through life, as the people in the pew depart to serve by singing the comforting words of this 1886 Dwight Moody Evangelistic hymn, “When we walk with the Lord, in the light of His word / What a glory He sheds on our way / While we do His good will, He abides with us still / And with all who will trust and obey.”

At the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday, August 27, Tyrone Presbyterian Church will come alive with the sound of music as Alice, Anita and Ferroll Mulhollan share some gospel favorites as part of a worship service that accents the blessing of walking with God.
