While motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of unintentional death of children over age one in the United States, many of these tragedies could be avoided through appropriate safety restraint use.
\nIn May, State Farm\u00ae will reinforce its ongoing commitment to child passenger safety by hosting its Sixth Annual Child Safety Day at more than 150 locations across the country. Through these events, parents will be educated about the importance of properly buckling up children, on every trip. Child Safety Day focuses on the significance of car seats, booster seats and seat belts for children riding in motor vehicles.
\nState Farm agent Kelly Wike, along with her team, will host free inspections of child safety seats on Saturday, May 20 from 10 a.m. to noon. The event will be held in partnership with the Family Fun Blast, Tyrone Rotary Club and Blair County Safe Kids, at Tyrone Area High School.
\nAppointments are required for seat inspections. Those interested should contact the office of agent Kelly Wike at 814-684-0502.
