(AP) \u2014 Jury selection is scheduled to begin March 1 in the murder trial of a man charged with beating to death a fire chief in a barroom brawl.<br \/>\nGeorge T. Lightcap IV, 29, of Nanty-Glo, is accused of repeatedly punching Ray E. Stringer on Aug. 19 after the two men argued inside the Nanty-Glo VFW.<br \/>\nStringer, 43, chief of Neptune Volunteer Fire Department in Tyrone, was in Nanty-Glo for a firemen\u2019s convention.<br \/>\nLightcap is charged with first-degree murder, criminal homicide and aggravated assault.<br \/>\nAuthorities said Lightcap hit Stringer, knocking him to the ground, and continued to punch him while he was on the ground.<br \/>\nThe blows to Stringer\u2019s head caused a brain injury that killed him, according to a pathologist.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>EBENSBURG, Pa.
