Huntingdon-based state police investigated a hit-and-run crash in the early morning hours of New Year\u2019s Eve in Warriors Mark Township.
\nPolice said 39-year-old David Wance of Altoona was traveling north on Firehouse Road when he went off the left side of the road and hit a mailbox belonging to Loy Kurtz.
\nPolice said Wance left the scene after the crash without notifying the owner. Citations against Wance were filed at a magisterial district judge\u2019s office for the hit-and-run and driving with a suspended license.

\nA two-vehicle accident happened at the intersection of State Route 220 and State Route 1019 in Snyder Township at 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 7.
\nThe crash happened when two vehicles were traveling northbound on Route 220.
\nA vehicle operated by 51-year-old Rolland Spadacene of Pittsburgh slowed to make a right turn. At that point, 34-year-old Thomas Reed was traveling behind Spadacene\u2019s vehicle. Reed failed to notice Spadcene slowing down. The front of Reed\u2019s vehicle struck the rear of Spadacene\u2019s vehicle.
\nReed and Spadacene were both wearing seat belts and were not injured. Two passengers in Spadacene\u2019s vehicle, 38-year-old Fabrienne Spadacene and 7-year-old Rhett Spadacene also were not injured.
\nFabrienne Spadacene was wearing a seat belt and the boy was in a child restraint. Both vehicles had moderate damage.

\nA 21-year-old driver from New York was stopped for a traffic violation on Jan. 10 on I-99 at milepost 39 in Antis Township.
\nThe stop led to the search by of a vehicle driven by Ludgens Beauzil of St. Albans, NY. State police used a narcotics dog to conduct the search. Six bags of suspected marijuana were discovered during the search.
\nThe marijuana was packaged for sale. Beauzil was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Fred Miller.

\nAnother recent traffic stop led to the investigation of two men for drug possession.
\nState police stopped a vehicle after it was observed traveling at a speed that exceeded the posted limit on Route 22 east about a mile west of I-99 in Allegheny Township.
\nAfter further investigation, the vehicle was searched and approximately one pound of marijuana was found in the trunk.
\nPolice said they also found the occupants, Joshua Adam Luckadoo, Tyrone and Dana Andrew McCloskey, RD 3, Altoona, to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

\nA Tyrone woman escaped injury in a one-vehicle accident on Saturday at 4:35 p.m.
\nCyndie Redmon was driving on State Route 550 and lost control of her car when it hit ice\/snow. Her car left the road and hit a mailbox. The car then continued to slide into a yard and turned on its side where it came to a final rest. Redmon was cited for violating the driving vehicle at safe speed provisions of the state\u2019s vehicle code. Police said she failed to control her vehicle under the conditions that existed on the roadway at the time of the accident.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
