The Tyrone Hospital Development Council will conduct its fifth annual Tree of Light ceremony in the main lobby at Tyrone Hospital on Monday, December 5 at 6 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
\nThere are several trees on display in the hospital\u2019s lobby with angels that have been purchased to remember deceased loved ones, honor those living, or to recognize a business or organization. An exterior tree will be illuminated as part of the ceremony.
\nThe tree lighting ceremony will include comments made by hospital leaders. Local children will provide vocal selections. An informal reception with refreshments will be held immediately following the ceremony.
\nFunds raised through the Tree of Light will be used to purchase a teleradiology system. The teleradiology system will allow the hospital to transmit digital diagnostic images, such as CT scans and MRI images, to physicians via the internet. This will give the hospital greater access to physicians who can interpret test results and also provide patient test results more quickly during evening and weekend hours.
\nComments will be made by the following: Randy Miles, Sr., Chairman, Tyrone Hospital Development Council; Robert Smith, Vice President, Tyrone Hospital Board of Directors; Walter S. Van Dyke, CEO, Tyrone Hospital and Reverend Norman Huff of Tyrone will provide a spiritual message and blessing of the tree.
\nStudents from St. Matthew\u2019s School in Tyrone will provide vocal selections, and Vocal Attraction, a choir from Tyrone Area Middle School, will also provide vocal selections.
