Teachers representing the Tyrone Area School District presented the Tyrone Hospital Development Council with a generous donation of $710 to the Council\u2019s Tree of Light fundraiser, which is currently underway.
\nThe school district raised the funds via a district-wide dress down day. The Tyrone School District has supported the Tree of Light each year since its inception five years ago. The Development Council will donate funds raised from the Tree of Light and other projects to Tyrone Hospital to purchase a teleradiology system. The teleradiology system will allow the hospital to transmit digital diagnostic images, such as CT scans and MRI images, to physicians via the internet.
\nThis will give the hospital greater access to physicians who can interpret test results and also provide patient test results more quickly during evening and weekend hours.
\nThe public is invited to attend the Development Council\u2019s Tree of Light ceremony to be held in the main lobby at Tyrone Hospital on Monday, December 5 at 6 p.m.
\nA blessing will be provided by Reverend Norman Huff. Vocal performances will be provided by \u201cVocal Attraction\u201d, a choir from Tyrone Middle School and the St. Matthew\u2019s School Choir.
