Burket beat out Republican Bob Ayers for a six-year term as Snyder Township supervisor. Burket will replace current supervisor James Chronister, whose term will run out in January 2006.<br \/>\nAyers is the township\u2019s current code enforcement officer and also serves on the township\u2019s planning commission.<br \/>\nBurket\u2019s wife, Republican Gail (Diehl) Burket ran unopposed for the four-year term as tax collector and also won.<br \/>\nDemocrat Warren E. (Buddy) Daughenbaugh Jr., won a two-year term as supervisor, beating out Republican candidate and current supervisor, James L. Miller.<br \/>\nIn November of 2004 after the death of Jim Daughenbaugh, Snyder Township supervisor for many years, Miller was appointed by the two remaining supervisors to serve for the first year of the three years remaining on Jim Daughenbaugh\u2019s term.<br \/>\nAt the township\u2019s January 2005 reorganization meeting, Miller was named vice-chairman of the board of supervisors and was also appointed Road Master.<br \/>\nBurket and Daughenbaugh Jr. will join current supervisor and chairman, Charles Diehl.<br \/>\nSupervisors will appoint a firm to fulfill the duties of township auditor at the January 2006 reorganization meeting.<br \/>\nCandidates elected to fill positions on the Snyder board of supervisors will face a main concern for residents dealing with the township\u2019s comprehensive plan and zoning.<br \/>\nAt a special meeting held in September, the current board of supervisors voted to delete any reference to zoning from the township\u2019s comprehensive plan. It continues to be an issue discussed at meetings because some residents are in favor of zoning while others are against it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Republican write-in candidate James I.
