{"id":42349,"date":"2005-09-28T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2005-09-28T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/v3\/?p="},"modified":"2005-09-28T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2005-09-28T00:00:00","slug":"The-Blotter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/?p=42349","title":{"rendered":"The Blotter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>State police investigated a theft from a vehicle at Frito Lay in Antis Township earlier this month.<br \/>\nThe incident happened sometime between Sept. 3 and 5 on Sandy Run Road.<br \/>\nSomeone broke four windows and a mirror on delivery vans in the parking lot. A monitor for a backing camera was taken from inside one of the vans.<br \/>\nThe monitor was valued at $50. The total damage was listed at $400.<br \/>\n&#8212;<br \/>\nEarlier this month, state police investigated a suspicious person\/suspicious vehicle incident at the parking lot of Sheetz in Antis Township.<br \/>\nThe investigation revealed what police called a \u201cbevy of criminal activity\u201d.<br \/>\nThe vehicle had previously been involved in a minor accident on Interstate 99 just north of the Bellwood exit. The vehicle contained items that two suspects gave conflicting stories about to authorities.<br \/>\nIt was determined the items were stolen from a private club in Centre County hours earlier. A consent search of the vehicle allowed troopers to recover the stolen property, which included rolled coins and formerly frozen food.<br \/>\nA male suspect from Centre County was taken into custody for possession of stolen property. While the female suspect, 24-year old Jessica Dawn Turiano of Altoona, was taken into custody for possession of stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence of a controlled substance.<br \/>\nThe suspects were lodged in Blair County Jail on probation detainers.<br \/>\nAt the time of their initial press release, police said the stolen property charges would be filed in Centre County. The drug paraphernalia charge was to be filed in Blair County. The DUI charge, pending lab results was also expected to be filed in Blair County.<br \/>\n&#8212;<br \/>\nPhilipsburg state police investigated a one-vehicle accident on State Route 350 in Taylor Township, Centre County on Sept. 4.<br \/>\nThe accident happened at 1:40 a.m. when a Maryland man, 22-year old Peter Mensah, was southbound on the road and lost control of his vehicle and traveled off the western edge. His vehicle struck a culvert and flipped over several times.<br \/>\nMensah was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. A passenger, 10-year old Christina Lomo of Virginia, was wearing a seat belt and suffered a minor injury.<br \/>\nMensah\u2019s vehicle had major damage.<br \/>\n&#8212;<br \/>\nHollidaysburg state police investigated an incident in Snyder Township that led to a DUI arrest on Sept. 4.<br \/>\nPolice said a pick-up truck driven by 25-year old Todd L. Emigh of West Decatur was being operated in an erratic manner along State Route 350 near the intersection of Route 220.<br \/>\nA traffic stop was conducted and police alleged Emigh was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Police said charges were to be filed at Magisterial District Judge Fred Miller\u2019s office.<br \/>\n&#8212;<br \/>\nA bad check incident was investigated earlier this month involving an auto dealership in Snyder Township.<br \/>\nDan Sprankle Auto Outlet received a bad check for payment during a business transaction on Sept. 6. Police offered no other details in their report issued last week except to say they were continuing their investigation.<br \/>\n&#8212;<br \/>\nPolice investigated criminal activity at another local car dealer in early September.<br \/>\nThe incident occurred sometime between Sept. 6 and 7 at Nelson Chevrolet on old Route 220 in Snyder Township when someone cut a corner off the registration plate containing a validation sticker. They also broke a key off in the ignition of the same vehicle.
