This year\u2019s Tyrone Community Labor Day picnic scheduled for Monday, September 5 at Reservoir Park from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., is fast approaching.
\nThe picnic is an opportunity for a full day to be spent close to home with family and friends.
\nThere will be food and fun as well as a 50\/50 raffle held to award cash prizes to the children who participate in the all-day organized games on land and at the community pool.
\nTo name a few participating food vendors to date, Tyrone Rotary will have chicken barbecue dinners, Tyrone Women\u2019s Club will sell rib dinners, Boy Scout Troops will have sloppy joes, hot dogs, barbecue ham, sodas and funnel cakes. Also, the Shriners will have hot sausage sandwiches, ice tea, lemonade and nachos.
\nIf any group would like to participate, contact Rose Black at the Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce office at 684-0736.
\nEntertainment at the picnic will be provided by The Schoch Hollow Band, and WTRN will provide live broadcasting all day.
\nBlack said every year the busiest job for picnic committee members is visiting community businesses and organizations for donations of bingo prizes which are used for adult prize bingo. If anyone would like to donate a bingo prize or monetary donation, they may drop them off at the Chamber office or to a picnic committee person.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
