The Tyrone Community Players have announced auditions for their upcoming production, \u201cBarefoot in the Park.\u201d
\nAccording to a recent TCP press release, \u201cBarefoot in the Park\u201d is considered one of Neil Simon\u2019s most finely crafted comedies. It tells the story of a newly married couple, six days to be exact, who move into a New York City Brownstone apartment inhabited by an eclectic and eccentric array of characters.
\nAuditions are scheduled for Sunday and Monday, August 28-29 at 7 p.m. in the TCP building located at 1019 Logan Ave., Tyrone. Individuals should be prepared with a short monologue, either from the \u201cBarefoot\u201d script or a show of like tone.
\nPerformance dates for this production are scheduled for October 21-22 in the parish hall at St. Matthew\u2019s Church.
\nThe cast for Neil Simon\u2019s \u201cBarefoot in the Park\u201d includes: Corrie Bratter, a twenty-something new bride: free spirited, Bohemian, trusting and accepting of all types of personalities; Paul Bratter, Corrie\u2019s husband of six days. He is a conservative corporate attorney struggling to establish his new career; Mrs. Banks, Corrie\u2019s mother, a widow who is uptight and set-in-her-ways, but secretly craving for a chance to \u201cbreak loose\u201d; Victor Velasco, an eccentric, mountain climbing, gourmet chef who lives on the roof of the building above Corrie and Telephone Man and Delivery Man, two characters who fall prey to Corrie\u2019s charm, even at the expense of the many flights of stairs required to reach her apartment.

\nThis production is under the direction of TCP veteran Brian Williamson who recently completed directing \u201cGypsy\u201d at the Boal Barn and has worked with TCP as choreographer for \u201cPippin\u201d and \u201cAn American Cabaret\u201d.
