There is music throughout Tyrone as the concert series continues tonight and Sunday.
\nThe Fun Friday series offers its second youth concert tonight, which features two local bands. Beginning at 7 p.m. in the downtown City Hotel Park, \\”Mullification\\” will open the program. Comprised of four Tyrone students, this talented group performs primarily original songs written and composed by its members. Nathan Barber is lead vocalist, Tim Stivitz plays guitar, Zach Yeaton is also on guitar, and Jordan Campbell plays drums.
\n\u201cA Second More Than Forever\u201d, formerly \u201cAbandon All Hope\u201d, will conclude the concert. This well-known local band energizes the audience with a mixture of original numbers and current hits. Shane Yingling is on bass along with Scott Ciambotti on guitar, Ben Stager on drums, and Nathan Barber for vocals.
\nIn the event of rain, Fun Friday concerts will be held in Joybeans Coffee Shop on Tenth Street.
\nReservoir Park will again be jumping to the music of the big band era as the Summer Sunday series presents \u201cThe Big Band Sound, Incorporated\u201d at 6 p.m. on the amphitheater stage.
\nThis talented group of musicians from a four county area is a blend of players with years of combined training and experience which is evident with their amazing sound and smooth style. With a repertoire of over 300 musical arrangements, the BBS, Inc. uses the full instrumentation of the original big bands, but has added the more up to date electric bass.
\nThis season\u2019s program, entitled \u201dMiller, Mancini, and More\u201d promises to be a delight for all by playing arrangements from such greats as Glenn Miller, Henry Mancini, Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, Manhatten Transfer and many others.
\nThe Big Band Sound, Incorporated, performs throughout Central Pennsylvania including the People\u2019s Choice Festival in Boalsburg and Raystown Lake Amphitheater.
\nSummer Sunday concerts begin at 6 p.m. and, in the event of rain, will be held in the Lutheran Church on Logan Avenue and Tenth Street.
\nAll concerts are made possible by a grant from the PA Council on the Arts, a state agency, the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency and Tyrone Borough.
