The sixth annual Tyrone Area Business and Career Expo is scheduled to be held Thursday, October 20 at the Tyrone Area High School gymnasium from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
\nThe cost for businesses to register is $50. However, there is no registration fee for educational and non-profit organizations who would like to be involved in the event.
\nFor this year\u2019s Expo, the Chamber will continue to have area businesses and educational institutions as participants.
\nAs an educational tool, the Chamber will be including Tyrone Area and Bellwood-Antis students in grades nine through 12 as guests at the event.
\nThe Chamber welcomes the community to attend the event free of charge.
\nLunch and a hospitality bar will be provided by Paula Binus\u2019 Eagle Inn Restaurant. The cost will be $6 per person, to be paid at the restaurant that day.
\nThe Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce Business after Hours is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m., hosted by the Tyrone Area School District to finish up the event-filled day. There is a $5 cost for each person who would like to attend the Business After Hours event.
\nExecutive Director of the Chamber, Rose Black, said that holding the Expo at the high school gym enables the Chamber to have a great many more exhibitors. However, the number of exhibitors is limited, along with electricity, and is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
\nTables will be provided for exhibitors, however, skirting and drapery will not be provided and will be up to exhibitors to bring.
\nIndividuals are asked to return the registration form along with the check for the reservation and\/or Business After Hour fees to the Tyrone Chamber office as soon as possible, but no later than September 15.
\nAccording to Black, the Chamber will be saving part of the proceeds from registration to recognize an outstanding graduating senior who is pursuing a career in business. Last year\u2019s award of $250 went to Melissa Stager.
