On Friday, July 15, Magisterial District Judge Fred Miller ruled on two cases concerning a junk yard at a site along Rte. 350 in Snyder Township.
\nLoner\u2019s Salvage and Car Crushing was found guilty of violating Snyder Township Code 76-4 and was sentenced to a fine of $300, plus court costs.
\nThe citation reads that since April 24, and each day thereafter the defendant violated the ordinance by acting as a junk dealer and operating a junk yard without a license as required by the ordinance.
\nLoner\u2019s Salvage and Car Crushing was also found guilty of violating Snyder Township Code 2003-3 and was sentenced to a fine of $1,000, plus court costs.
\nThe citation reads that since April 24, and each day thereafter the defendant violated the ordinance by accumulating, dumping and\/or depositing discarded waste or refuse material, junked automobiles, machinery and\/or equipment in areas not designated by the ordinance.
\nGlenn Ray of G & R Excavating was found not guilty of violating ordinance 76-4 of acting as a junk dealer or operating a junk yard without a license.
\nHe was also found not guilty of violating ordinance 2003-3 of accumulating, dumping and\/or depositing discarded waste or refuse material, junked automobiles, machinery and\/or equipment in areas not designated by the ordinance.
\nIn other township news, the planning commission has scheduled a public meeting to review the preliminary findings and recommendations of the plan and receive public input.
\nThe meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 28 between 7-9 p.m. at the Bald Eagle Volunteer Fire Company Hall. Members of the planning commission will be in attendance, along with a representative from The EADS Group, the township\u2019s planning consultant.
