Pet owners competing in the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society\u2019s \u201cPicture Perfect Pet\u201d calendar contest will be wrapping up their donation collection campaign very soon.
\n\u201cAll funds (or votes as they are called) need to be turned in on or before Saturday, June 11,\u201d according to CPHS Executive Director, Dave Hopkins.
\nMore than 90 pet owners have been soliciting votes in the form of donations for their animals, hoping to win top spots as \u201cmonths\u201d on the calendar which is scheduled to be printed and ready for distribution sometime in early September. The calendars will be available for purchase at the shelter, the CPHS Thrift Shop and some local participating merchants. They\u2019ll sell for $7 ($5 for CPHS members).
\nCompeting pet owners are being asked to count up their cash donations and write just one check to cover the contribution. Checks can be made out to: CPHS.
\n\u201cThey don\u2019t necessarily need to hand deliver them, but we\u2019ll need a copy of their original receipt from their photographer so we can authenticate it and give them back a receipt showing how much they raised,\u201d said Hopkins.
\nThe results of the contest will be announced after all the \u201cvotes\u201d are turned in, according to Hopkins.
\n\u201cThis is our first year for this event and we\u2019re \u2018feeling our way through it\u2019 but it\u2019s been very smooth so far. We\u2019re looking forward to finishing up by raising a nice amount to help our homeless animals.\u201d
\nOrganizers of the project are still looking for local businesses to purchase \u201cpatron\u201d ads on the calendar. The ads are small business listings and are $25 each.
