{"id":42896,"date":"2005-05-28T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2005-05-28T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/v3\/?p="},"modified":"2005-05-28T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2005-05-28T00:00:00","slug":"Veterans-honored-by-4-H-members-at-Soldier\u2019s-Park","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/?p=42896","title":{"rendered":"Veterans honored by 4-H members at Soldier\u2019s Park"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to a release submitted by Tyrone Community 4-H club members, on May 12, the group \u201cwas called to arms.\u201d<br \/>\nThe Tyrone American Legion Post No. 281 and 4-H members went to Soldier\u2019s Park, to remember veterans with honor.<br \/>\nMore than 1,000 crosses were placed in memory of the veterans who have died and who were also members of the Legion.<br \/>\nThe release from the 4-H members said several girls felt honored to help place crosses, and many set up crosses that belonged to their families.<br \/>\nOne example was fourth-generation Kirkpatrick, Amanda Morningstar, who helped the American Legion with the Memorial Day crosses.<br \/>\nWhen asked what she thought about the American Legion putting in the crosses, she said, \u201cI think it is wonderful that a group of people so dedicated come out to do something like this to recognize what these men and women have done for us.\u201d<br \/>\nShe was able to honor her fallen great-grandfather by putting in his cross.<br \/>\n\u201cIt\u2019s important that we take the time to recognize these brave fallen who have given their all for this country.
