{"id":42905,"date":"2005-05-20T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2005-05-20T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/v3\/?p="},"modified":"2005-05-20T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2005-05-20T00:00:00","slug":"Tyrone-Area-Youth---Baseball-Association","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/?p=42905","title":{"rendered":"Tyrone Area Youth \r\nBaseball Association"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In results from the Tyrone Area Youth Baseball Association on Wednesday, Ferguson\u2019s Pest Control (2-1) scored a run in the bottom of the sixth inning to edge Elks (0-3) 7-6 in the early game, while Gardner\u2019s Candies (2-1) dumped Rick Day Construction (2-1) in a high-scoring contest 19-12 to hand RDC their first loss of the early season.<br \/>\nMay 18<br \/>\nFerguson\u2019s Pest Control 7  Elks 6<br \/>\nElks tried hard to capture their initial conquest of the season, taking 2-1 and 6-4 leads, after Ferguson\u2019s had opened the scoring to take a 1-0 advantage after two innings. FPC kept coming back however, finally pushing a run across in the bottom of the sixth, to avoid going into extra innings.<br \/>\nJimmy Ferguson and Seth Barrett led the attack for the winners. Ferguson cracked out two hits including a double and scored twice, while Barrett tripled and singled and scored once. Joey Miller knocked in two runs for Ferguson\u2019s with a two-run home run in the fourth inning. Derrick Emigh and Kaleb Chronister had two hits for Elks.<br \/>\nDerrick Emigh recorded two singles and scored twice for Elks. Andrew Warrender drove in a pair of runs.<br \/>\nKorry Cowher went the distance for Ferguson\u2019s to pick up the win, striking out nine, while walking just one batter. Each team had a big inning with Gardner\u2019s putting up 11 runs in the top of the second, and Rick Day coming back with eight tallies in the bottom of the fourth. When all the dust had cleared however, a dozen hits by Gardner\u2019s couple with 12 errors by the Construction crew gave the Candymen the decision.<br \/>\nRobby Marlett led the winners with three hits, including a double and triple and two RBI.
