{"id":42932,"date":"2005-05-19T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2005-05-19T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/v3\/?p="},"modified":"2005-05-19T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2005-05-19T00:00:00","slug":"The-Blotter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/?p=42932","title":{"rendered":"The Blotter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An Antis Township man filed a report regarding harassment at his residence on May 3 at 6:20 p.m.<br \/>\nWilliam Young said he received hang up phone calls at his Potts Lane location.<br \/>\n&#8212;<br \/>\nA 17-year-old Tyrone teenager was reported as a missing runaway earlier this month.<br \/>\nThe girl left her residence in RR 4, Tyrone with her 17-year-old boyfriend after an argument with her mother and her mother\u2019s boyfriend on May 6 at 10:30 p.m. The girl failed to return home. The teen\u2019s mother did not report her missing until May 10. The girl was then located at a residence in Altoona.<br \/>\n&#8212;<br \/>\nAn unknown vehicle struck a railroad crossing sign at a location on Back Vail Road in Snyder Township on May 1.<br \/>\nState police said the incident caused substantial damage.<br \/>\n&#8212;<br \/>\nA Westmoreland County man\u2019s car was forced off the road on Interstate 99 in Snyder Township on May 11 at 10:55 a.m.<br \/>\nScott Perry of Ligonier lost control of his car he was operating in the left lane when another vehicle entered the lane forcing the vehicle off the road. Perry was reportedly wearing a seat belt at the time. Police did not report any injuries or vehicle damage as a result of the incident.<br \/>\n&#8212;<br \/>\nAn Altoona man escaped injury after an accident on Sinking Valley Road, two miles east of the reservoir in Tyrone Township.<br \/>\nBenjamin Johnston was operating his Ford Ranger 4&#215;4 and was negotiating a sharp curve to the left on State Route 4013. The vehicle left the road and struck a utility pole guide wire attached to the utility pole.<br \/>\nThe impact shook the pole and the transformer broke loose on the pole, causing the transformer to fall partially down the pole. It then became lodged in the telephone cables on the pole.<br \/>\nThe investigating officer said a more serious incident may have been avoided when the transformer became lodged in the cables. Had it not, trooper David Nazaruk said it could have potentially fallen onto the vehicle.<br \/>\nThe driver left the scene and was later contacted at his residence in Altoona. Johnston was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. His vehicle had moderate damage.<br \/>\nAs of a the public information release issued on Monday, several violations regarding the incident were still being investigated.<br \/>\n&#8212;<br \/>\nA 21-year-old Tyrone man was injured in a one-vehicle accident in Spruce Creek on May 14 at 6:55 a.m.<br \/>\nJonathan David Holthouser was traveling west on State Route 45 and failed to negotiate a curve. His vehicle struck an embankment and rolled onto its roof.<br \/>\nHolthouser was taken to Tyrone Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Police said the driver had charges filed against him for violating safe speed law.<br \/>\n&#8212;<br \/>\nAn 84-year-old man was the victim of a burglary at his residence on Nealmont Lane, off of State Route 550 in Warriors Mark.<br \/>\nDavid Morrissey\u2019s home was forcibly entered and two rifles from in the residence were removed. The burglar(s) entered the rear door of the residence after damaging the outside of the door.<br \/>\nHuntingdon-based state police said witnesses at the scene observed a vehicle leaving the area that may be connected to the incident.<br \/>\nThe investigation was continuing at the time of the police public information release on Monday.<br \/>\n&#8212;<br \/>\nState police are investigating a cruelty to animals incident which happened at 10 a.m. on Monday in Warriors Mark.<br \/>\nSomeone shot and killed a big horned sheep ewe belonging to 38-year-old Eric O. Gilliland of Ginter. Police said the sheep was valued at $5,000.
