{"id":43009,"date":"2005-05-09T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2005-05-09T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/v3\/?p="},"modified":"2005-05-09T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2005-05-09T00:00:00","slug":"The-Blotter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tyronepa.com\/?p=43009","title":{"rendered":"The Blotter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tyrone police caught up with a fugitive from justice last week after investigating a disturbance on April 24 at 1218 Logan Ave.<br \/>\nTyrone Police Chief Joseph Beachem said while investigating the disturbance police came into contract with 39-year-old James Allen Rezac. Authorities learned Rezac was a fugitive from Maryland. He was wanted there on DUI and motor vehicle theft charges.<br \/>\nBeachem said there was some confusion regarding the matter but eventually Rezac turned himself over to authorities.<br \/>\nHe was brought before Magisterial Judge Fred Miller and was released on $75,000 unsecured bail.<br \/>\n&#8212;<br \/>\nState police investigated a simple assault case in Tyrone Township which left two Claysburg residents injured on April 24 at 6:30 p.m.<br \/>\nThirty-six-year-old Leslie A. Myers became involved in a verbal altercation with 56-year-old William H. Miller of Altoona. During the incident, Miller allegedly struck Myers in the face and head. The woman suffered a broken nose and severe lacerations to the face and right ear.<br \/>\nThirty-five-year-old Donald E. Guess tried to stop the altercation and suffered a minor laceration to the side of his neck. Myers was taken to Altoona Hospital for treatment of her injuries.<br \/>\nPolice said the incident happened along Sinking Valley Road, near the intersection of Kettle Nursery Road.<br \/>\nCharges were filed against the accused with Magisterial District Judge Fred Miller.<br \/>\n&#8212;<br \/>\nA car press belonging to a Milesburg man was damaged while it was parked just off of State Route 453 on Sinking Valley Road in Tyrone Township.<br \/>\nThe incident happened sometime between 4 p.m. on April 28 and 7 a.m. on May 2.<br \/>\nThe unknown suspect(s) used a large hammer to strike the press and broke a control panel, gauges and handles. Damage was estimated at $5,000. Police listed the victim as William Pequignot.<br \/>\nAny one with information is asked to contact either the Huntingdon or Hollidaysburg-based state police.<br \/>\n&#8212;<br \/>\nA Duncansville man was apprehended by Tyrone Police thanks to the action of a citizen after a purse snatching which happened at the Bilo at on W. 13th Street in Tyrone on May 3 at 12:45 p.m.<br \/>\nPolice said 26-year-old Travis D. Brickner took a purse from an elderly woman from the front of her shopping cart. The woman started to scream and a bystander was able to grab Brickner and hold him until police arrived.<br \/>\nBrickner was charged with theft, receiving stolen property and disorderly conduct. He was brought before Magisterial District Judge Fred Miller and bail was set at $25,000 straight.
