The schedule for Amtrak\u2019s train which stops in Tyrone has changed as of the start of this week.
\nThe Pennsylvanian train stops both eastbound and westbound once each day in Tyrone. The rail service typically changes its schedule on a fall\/winter and spring\/summer basis.
\nThe new schedule has the Pennsylvanian arriving in Tyrone eastbound at 10:05 a.m., Monday through Saturday. The train then travels on to Huntingdon to pick up passengers there at 10:32 a.m. Previously the eastbound Pennsylvanian was scheduled to arrive in Tyrone at 12:45 p.m. and in Huntingdon at 1:12 p.m.
\nOn Sundays, the eastbound train is now scheduled to arrive in Tyrone at 4:05 p.m. and Huntingdon at 4:32 p.m.
\nWestbound service on the train has the same schedule seven days a week. The train arrives at 3:22 p.m. in Huntingdon and at 3:48 p.m. in Tyrone and then continues to Altoona and points further west. Previously the westbound train\u2019s scheduled arrival was at 6:37 p.m. in Huntingdon, according to Washington DC-based Amtrak spokesperson Tracy Connell. The train then continued westbound with a scheduled arrival in Tyrone at 7:03 p.m.
\nThe Daily Herald\u2019s sister paper, The Daily News of Huntingdon, reported yesterday that last year at this time, Amtrak provided two eastbound and two westbound train stops in Huntingdon, but the Three Rivers train service was discontinued. Connell said the Three Rivers did not stop in Tyrone prior to the service being stopped.
\n Connell told The Daily News, \u201cSome of the time change for the Pennsylvanian is to pick up some of the time of the former Three Rivers.\u201d
