A public hearing was held prior to the Antis Township meeting last week to discuss ordinance 2-2005 regarding an amendment to the subdivision and land development ordinance.
\nThe proposed ordinance amends and replaces ordinances 1-94 and requires that all subdivision and land development activities be approved by the township. It explains submission and review procedures for applications and details the requirements that must be contained in such plans, including design standards, construction requirements and fees.
\nThe supervisors planned to then take action on the on the ordinance during their regular meeting.
\nWith two supervisors unable to attend the meeting and a question on some of the wording, Solicitor Patrick Fanelli explained to the supervisors they could approve it, but if they wanted to be \u201cabsolutely cautious\u201d they should re-advertise and wait to make any decisions at the next meeting. The board chose to set up a work shop for later in the month to further discuss any issues and wait until the May meeting to take any action.
\nThe board also decided to hold off on making any changes to the nuisance ordinance. Last month there was an issue with barking dogs. The supervisors were asked to look into possibly changing the wording within the nuisance ordinance. According to Manager Jeff Ziegler, currently it\u2019s stated that a nuisance is when \u201cdogs bark to the extent it would bother your neighbor.\u201d
\nHe suggested possibly rewording it to \u201cany continuous half hour within an hour.\u201d The board decided it wanted to look into the matter further before taking any action.
\nIn other business, paving contract bids were opened. Four bids were received and the board voted to approve the low bid from New Enterprise, totaling $243,421.50 pending a review of the bid.
\nThe board also approved a request to release allocated funds for the Tipton Antis Volunteer Fire Company and a request from Blair Senior Services to use Bell Mansion maintenance funds to replace a six gallon electric water heater in the back kitchen, at a cost of $178.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
