Elwood Edwin Walk, 80, of RD 3, Box 211, Tyrone, died at 4:45 p.m., Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at the Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus.
\nHe was born Sept. 4, 1924 at Hannah, Centre County. a son of Howard L. and Ida Mary (McMonigal) Walk, Sr.
\nHe never married.
\nHe is survived by brothers and sisters: Irene Cree, Warren L. Walk, Sr., Austin E. Walk, Sr., Bettye M. Walk, all of RD, Tyrone; Arthur B. Walk of Tyrone and a half-brother, Walter Fink of Patton.
\nThere are several nieces and nephews.
\nHe was preceded in death by a sister Helen Dillon, a brother Howard Walk, Jr., a half-brother Orlando Fink and a half-sister Thelma McClellan.
\nHe was a member of the Hannah Methodist Church.
\nHis lifelong passion was hunting, fishing, woodcarving and gardening.
\nHe was retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad as a trackman.
\nFuneral services will be held Friday, April 8, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Rev. Ben T. Grove officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, RD, Port Matilda.
\nFriends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
