Lisa Kovac recently announced she is running for the position of school director of the Bellwood-Antis School District.
\nKovac has been on the board since September, after she was appointed to fill the vacancy created when Scott Boyer resigned.
\nShe is a Bellwood-Antis School District graduate and also graduated from Indiana University of PA with a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Education. She and her husband, Timothy Kovac, have two sons: Adam, 14 and Alex, 14 months. Adam is an eighth grader at Bellwood-Antis.
\nKovac currently works as the Service Coordinator at PC Works Plus, Inc. in Bellwood.
\n\u201cI submitted my letter of interest to be on the board because I love education and being involved in the processes that make a school district work,\u201d said Kovac.
\n\u201cHaving a vested interest in my son attending B-A fueled my desire to see the excellence continue in the district.
\n\u201cI like being involved in the community and I really want to do what\u2019s in the best interest of the students at all times. This experience with the Board has led me to decide to run for the position, as appointed board members can only serve one year.
